At his party on Saturday with the family, he asked for chocolate ice cream (that's my boy!). On his actual birthday, which was yesterday, we asked him what kind of ice cream he wanted with his cake and he said, "THIS year I want vanilla ice cream." As if the calendar begins on his birthday. HAHA, this kid is too much! As you can see, he changed his mind and wanted chocolate ice cream.
Jake had an awesome birthday - church, went to the park, ate chicken nuggets for dinner, ate toast and yogurt for lunch, the fun went on and on. We asked him where he wanted to go for dinner...he said Chick-fil-a. It was Sunday, so that couldn't happen. We'll be going tonight though! I think this is more of a present for Mom and Dad, and we'll take it!
I kept asking Jake what kind of cake he wanted, and I ignored all requests for a motorcycle cake, because seriously, that sounded way too complicated. Since he loves cars and the Cars movies, I went online to see what ideas I could find. I thought making the 3 for the track was a really cool idea, and I think it turned out really well. Plus, it tasted really good, and Jake loved it, and that's what really matters.

These loaded backwards...one day I'll figure this out. Anyway...Jake has a twin bed! We were going to let him sleep in his toddler bed one more night, which he wanted to do until it came time for bed and he was ready for his new bed.
This is one of Jake's favorite things about his birthday - watching Kevin throw the Christmas tree over the balcony. Last year it was a lot easier to see because there was snow on the ground. We didn't do it on his birthday, but it was close enough.

Seems like not too long ago, Kevin and I were getting ready for dinner out with friends, Joe and Shauna, when I went into labor with Jake. We had to take a rain check!
Early in the morning on January 8, 2009; Jake was trouble from the beginning!
Can't believe he used to be that little.
It has been an amazing 3 years! Couldn't ask for a better Jake, we are so thankful to God for giving him to us. Can't wait to see what he has in store for us next. :)
