just born...looks a little like Jake did...maybe that's just the newborn look.

So, I'm a little slow with this blog...I'm a little busy here.

Right now I am sitting at the hospital with Baby Drew, because he has a boil on his bottom. We discovered it yesterday morning - April 29 - when we were changing his diaper. We just thought it was maybe a cut from getting wiped so much from all of the diaper changes, but throughout the day it got worse - puffy and discolored - so I took him in to see his doctor. She said she had not seen a boil on a child this young, so he had to go to Fairfax hospital. When we arrived last night, they got him started on IV antiobiotics, took a urine sample (with a catheter - poor kid, at least he won't remember any of this), and did blood work. Drew has been a really good patient through all of this, even slept good last night for Mom. This morning the surgeon came to look at it and said he would just drain it - not really "surgery" or anesthesia needed - yay! The draining took all of 3 minutes with clean-up and everything. Jake and Dad came to visit this morning right when the surgery was over. Now we are just keeping an eye on the boil to make sure it doesn't close up and get infected again. Drew will probably be able to come home Sunday morning!! I am especially happy about that, because these chair "beds" are not the most comfortable things. I am so glad that I am able to stay with him though :)

This afternoon is also Drew's baby shower - we planned it so that he would be able to be there for everyone to see...ironic, right? We are so thankful that everything seems to be going well.

So far in these 4 short weeks, Drew is a great kid! He is a great eater, sleeper, and generally happy baby. The only time he is really cranky is right around our dinner time.

I will update soon with pictures from the last 4 weeks!
